Maximum Bet

Maximum Bet is created for the GMTK Game Jam 2022. In this short game, you are a gambler that has died and finds himself in Hell. Use your mortal powers to earn your salvation, or sacrifice fragments of your soul to get some help from the devil. Will you place your Maximum Bet?

Due to lack of time for submission, the opening cutscene can not be found in the game yet.

so this is the main dialogue 

You: Where am I? I can’t remember anything except losing all my money again

You: Every damn time

You: Its only until I get my big win. Once more. Then it is over for good.

You: I still don’t know where I am

…: Welcome

You: Who is this? Where am I?

…: You can’t see anything, you have memory loss and there are three dots instead of my name. Try to guess. I will give you a hint. Some would call it generic.

You: Am I dead?

...: Bingo! You are a luminous lightbulb.

You: But I don’t remember anything. How did this happen?

…: Yeah yeah. I have had this conversation way too many times. I don’t care how it happened. It just did. Stop boring me.

You: I can’t be dead. I have so many things to do… I…

…: Oh, you are not just dead. You are in hell too. There is a very extended list of reasons why, so don’t try to convince me that you are not destined to join our party

You: I…

…: Okay. It’s taking you a while to realize what’s happening and I am really losing interest of your presence.

…: But

…: I am going to give you a chance to leave this place.

…: Take this sword mortal.

…: I challenge you to face your demons

…: You are also getting my die.

…: Roll it to replenish your health.

…: However…

…: Every time you use it, you sacrifice a fragment of your soul, making your demons stronger
